Juices are better than forcing yourself to eat fruit or vegetables you hate to help you become healthier. So in this article, let’s discuss some of the most popular healthy juice recipes you can make at home as well.
Homemade drinks & juices to try
These are a few juices you can try to get you started but then why not experiment with different flavours and combinations?
Blueberries + Blackberries
If you love berries, you are going to adore this juice recipe! Half a cup of blueberries and the same of blackberries, freshly squeezed lemon juice, water, and a bit of ginger is all you need.
Mix ingredients until you get a silky texture and your blue juice is ready! This recipe is perfect as blueberries are full of antioxidants and blackberries are great for digestion and maintaining good blood sugar levels.
Pineapple + Kale
Another classic combination for all juice lovers who want an excellent veggie and fruit blend. All you need is half a cup of fresh pineapple, one green apple if you have it, about 5-6 kale leaves, and some fresh coriander to make this juice.
Green apples are added to this to improve heart health, and the pineapple adds a sweet flavour. Kale is a vegetable very few people enjoy but is full of nutrients so this is a great way to enjoy it.
The green juice
What often tops the most popular nutritious juice lists is green juice, a blend of regular greens and herbs. If you do not like eating your veggies, this is the best way to have them.
Add a green apple or kiwi for some taste, and you can also add honey for some sweetness! The vegetables you add is a little up to you as it depends on the season. If you find it is too thick in consistency add a little apple juice.
Strawberry + Apple
Apples are one of the most nourishing fruits; most fitness lovers already know that. There is a reason behind the saying, an apple a day keeps the doctor away!
Combine apples with strawberries with a perfect sweet juice recipe that tastes amazing. For people who are Vitamin C deficient with a sweet tooth, this is an ideal juice blend to add to your diet.
Crimson Energy Drink
Beetroot helps detoxify your body and maintain better blood pressure levels, so here is a drink with beetroots. Add one red apple, 1-2 beetroots, 2-3 celery stalks, and lemon juice to the blender.
If you love tangy flavours, this healthy juice is worth a try! Avoid pickled beetroot for the best flavour.
Carrots + Ginger + Orange
If you want a juice recipe to get more Vitamin C, this one is overflowing with that. Oranges are one of the most popular sources of this Vitamin, and Ginger comes with antioxidants that are good for the body.
Combine these two ingredients with the sweetness of carrots, and you have the perfect new blend to try this fitness season. A bright orange juice that looks and tastes great.
Celery + Cucumber
Celery and cucumber are excellent for someone who loves to combine vegetables. Combining these two vegetables is an excellent source of hydration, and you can add a few more ingredients.
You can throw apples or lemons in for a sweet or tart flavour. Both cucumber and celery contain a lot of water so this is good for people who drink very little water. As it doesn’t have much flavour it is easy to adapt with that orange or apple to your tastes.
Peaches + Mango + Orange
Tropical flavour lovers will love this juice blend – A perfect replacement for orange juice that you can have every morning. Add coconut water before blending this combination for a bit more kick. Try making this tropical juice at home with these fruits and keep it cool to take out on a hot day!
Why can’t you juice on Slimming World?
Slimming World view juicing and making smoothies as much of the same thing. Either way, you are breaking down fruit or vegetables to make them easier for you to consume. The reason they do not like this is that they state it is easier for you to consume more calories and over eat as such if you juice or make smoothies.
In my opinion, it is more important to ensure you get all the nutrients you need than worry about eating too many calories of fruits and vegetables for example. Other diets don’t always have an issue with juicing so it is entirely up to you.
Remember that whilst it is your weight loss or healthy lifestyle it is your choice what you eat and drink.
Whilst the perfect diet will be a healthy mixture of fruit and vegetables cooked into meals and eaten raw this isn’t easy for some people. If you don’t enjoy many vegetables then juicing them can ensure you still get their nutrients.
