Why Prefer Organic Skin Care Over Chemical-Based Skin Treatment?

When we talk about organic skin care we assume something made up of natural herbs and which must not include some chemical compounds. The term organic in skincare can be defined as “naturally grown botanical herbs” which can be used in organic skin care products.

Natural skin care or organic skin care:

Sometimes we confuse the terms “natural and organic” with both. A natural product does not mean it’s an organic compound but a natural product may include some chemicals found in nature and may not be prepared artificially. So if a product is labeled as 100% Natural it does not mean it’s a 100% chemical-free organic skin care product.

However, if the product is labeled as 65% organic it means it contains 65% organic compounds, and the rest 35 % may be artificially prepared chemical compounds like Parabens which are added as preservatives in the organic skin care products to enhance their shelf life. Unfortunately, there is no regulatory authority that can determine and regulates which chemical substance is not suitable to be used in organic skin care products.

Organic lifestyle:

Most of the time we are much more careful in adding a large portion of organic substances in our daily life we want that our food should consist of fruits and vegetables and other organic-rich substances so that we may remain closure to nature similarly we must know that we also need organic skincare for our for healthier and glowing skin.

Most of the time Chemicals used in skincare start depositing into the skin and the prolonged use of these chemicals may create a layer of skin tissue which can be a big cause of diseases. These are the same chemicals that are commercially used in industry to cleanse and grease into the gears etc. Ideally speaking these chemicals have no good effect except to clean the skin and give an oily formation to the product.

Chemicals used in Organic Skin Care Products:

Most of the time chemicals like Parabens and Laurel/laureth sulfates are also used in products that are known to be for organic skin care. Parabens come in different forms like Methylparaben, Propylparaben, and Sobutyleparaben, etc. All these chemicals are based on Parabens which may be present on any label of face wash, skin whitening cream, moisturizers, or body lotions, and body wash, etc as preservatives to enhance the product’s shelf life.

This chemical has a devastating effect on skin tissues causing different levels of allergies and toxins. At a certain level, it may cause a degree of skin cancer or breast cancer, etc. Similarly, Laurel/laureth sulfates and sodium lauryl sulfates are used as a softener and as detergents in soaps, toothpaste, and shampoos. This chemical can cause different levels of body reactions and allergies like skin rashes, eye irritations, and damage to hairs also.
