A Turn for the Worse She was finding it hard to support her children and herself. Then to make matters worse she got some unexpected and upsetting news from her doctor. The children she was raising weren’t even hers. The results came back but only created more questions. He had no idea she had a twin either. And even though they were separated a year later they had a second baby. This brought upon many more financial woes. She needed to make a plan. She wanted to provide for them but she didn’t see any other options. She also applied for welfare from the state and waited at home to hear back from them. She really needed it now. He goes: ‘You really need to come up to the office.’ So that’s when I went up to the office, I went into the back room and it was just him and a lady. Just as Lydia had been trying to make them believe, there was no matching DNA between the new baby and mom. Just when she thought she had proved her innocence and verity she was blindsided by an even more serious accusation. Lydia finally got a lawyer that would take on her case and it’s a fortunate thing she did. There were heinous ideas going through the prosecutor’s mind; from being a surrogate mother, being involved in criminal behavior, to even her having abducted the children from someone. Real scientific evidence was just too hard to believe in this case.
