Teen Walks Into Hospital With Shoebox, Nurse Orders Him To Open It

Mystery Box That rainy night, the hospital was absolutely crowded. It was one of the busiest shifts that nurse Jeannie Joseph could remember. She couldn’t suspect that something special would happen that night. A teenager stepped into the hospital, carrying a shoebox in his hands. Both of them were great students, and all the teachers knew they would be going places after graduation. Also, the two of them played sports and enjoyed engaging in extracurricular activities. However, destiny had something in the books for them that no one could have ever predicted. Something would happen that would make their cross paths and change their lives forever. They were attracted to each other, they had a lot in common, and seemed overall like the perfect match. They started hanging out almost every day. Their romance was pure and innocent. They were in bliss with each other; but soon, their young love would be challenged by a drastic event. Even though they were still young, they started fantasizing and then planning a future together. But would they be able to stay together all the way through thick and thin? They didn’t know what fate had in the books for them; their young love would soon be put through a test. She thought that her daughter was still too young to be messing and wasting time with boys. Her decision about it was drastic: she forced Cherish to stop seeing Michael. No matter how much she disliked it, the fact was that she was in love with him; and there was nothing that could stop their romance. She had to sneak out of her house to see Michael, and the two of them had to take special care not to be seen by anybody. Their biggest fear was what could happen if Cherish’s mom found them. She he suggested his girl to run away together and start a life together somewhere. However, something was about to happend that they couldn’t escape from. Or at least, not easily. They were about to confront the hardest situation of their lives. Difficult Life At Home Public Domain On top of everything else, Michael had some problems in his house too; he didn’t get along with his dad, and the situation was getting unbearable to him. It came to a point where he was sleeping over at friends’ places every other day. Still, the you couple soon saw that their best bet was to stick through the hardships, complete their studies, and then move away after that. But something was about to happen that would shatter their whole world. Running Home Public Domain One day, while she was in class, Cherish started feeling a pain like she’d never felt before. She also started feeling really dizzy, so she ended up going home. She stayed locked in her bedroom for a while, and then she did the only thing she could think of: she called Michael and asked him to go over. He finally arrived, saw Cherish’s state and got scared. He jumped out the window and ran to the nearest hospital to ask for some help. He had to run eight miles across an old dusty road. But there was nothing else he could do, and it was an emergency. He had to do everything in his hand to help his girlfriend before it was too late. After the longest walk in his life, a boy walked into the hospital holding nothing but a shoebox. Inside the box, there was a tiny infant wrapped in a dishtowel. Nurse Joseph and the medical staff treated him for hypothermia, dehydration, and an infection from the cut of his umbilical cord. When the baby boy stabilized the next day, he had another visitor. A note inside the shoebox, written by Cherish, read: “We love you, we are just not able to raise you. We want his name to be Allen Corey and we will hope to be able to see you again. God will be watching over you.” The nurse first saw the terrified mother the day after baby Allen was stabilized. The girl walked into the nursery, holding her head down in shame. She just wanted to see the little one before relinquishing him under the state’s Safe Haven law. But once she held him, everything changed. Terrified, Cherish brought her mother to the hospital without any explanation as to why. Standing in front of Allen’s incubator, Cherish froze up and her mother’s face paled. Cherish’s mom immediately wanted to hold her tiny grandson. Her love for Cherish was unconditional. She never showed any anger and was heartbroken she’d kept her secret so long. The two hadn’t spoken for many years. But neither had forgotten each other. And Cherish expressed her desire to rekindle their old friendship. And of course, Jeannie was more than delighted to oblige! The ladies haven’t yet had a chance to reunite face-to-face, but now they keep in touch online every day.
