Teens Go On TikTok Treasure Hunt Despite Warning

Strange Times All aspects of entertainment were gone in the summer of 2020. Things like movie theaters, restaurants, and bowling alleys were all closed. So three teenagers in Seattle couldn’t figure out what to do. Then they downloaded some weird app on their phones, it would end up leading them on a misadventure that they would remember for the rest of their lives. Normal Teens Instagram / ughhenry Gabbi, Natalie, and Henry did all the things that normal teenagers did. They chased the newest trends, making TikToks and posting selfies on Instagram. Speaking of new trends, they noticed videos of people using the strange app. It seemed to spice up their lives and take them on an adventure. But they had no idea where it would take them. The Infamous App Youtube / FatReacts But as YouTubers and TikTokkers were posting videos of the new app. But most of them used the title, “do not use this app.” They saw that the videos were getting views in the hundreds of millions. The three had no idea what they were getting themselves into. Eerie Experiences Reddit / callmediane13 The app is called Randonautic and encourage their users to get out of their comfort zone and go on a strange adventure. But there would often be a twist. One video showed someone being led to a cemetery, they noticed that two headstones were the ones of their relatives. Everywhere parents were banning their children from using it. The Three Rules Youtube / FatReacts When using Randonautica there are only three simple rules that one has to follow – don’t do it at night, don’t do it alone, and always stay positive. But many people didn’t seem to care about these rules. The man who made the app said that he was shocked by what he had seen on YouTube. Not Heeding The Warnings wwwhatsnew Gabbi decided to download the app and watched it’s ominous loading icon – an owl’s head. The three of them set their adventure within six miles and waited in anticipation. The app then gave them a place to go visit so they went on their way. Akai Beach Pinterest They noticed that the app was getting them closer to the Akai beach on the pacific coast of Seattle. They walked between shops and market stalls until they got to the boardwalk. The app then took them to the beach. On The Rocks TikTok / ughhenry As they walked on the sand they were all making conversation, theorizing what they would find, maybe treasure? Then they noticed the sand start to get rockier and rockier. Henry was recording the entire event, then they noticed what the app was pointing towards. The Chilling Video West Seattle Blog Arguably the most chilling aspect of the footage is the fact that Henry, Natalie, and Gabbi had no idea what kind of situation they were walking into. The authorities who showed up on the scene later said that the teens could be traumatized for the rest of their lives because of what they found. What had they stumbled upon? Discovery Youtube / Inside Edition Down a small embankment was an abandoned black suitcase, sitting on the rocks. Henry giggled with excitement. It was a large traveler’s suitcase with wheels. “Maybe there’s money inside!?” he exclaimed excitedly. The friends couldn’t believe their luck. But, they quickly realized that the shore was a very strange place for someone to leave a suitcase… The Suitcase TikTok / ughhenry The sudden change in weather wasn’t helping the atmosphere, either. The grey Seattle sky began to darken as the friends stood there in awe. What had started out as a fun adventure was quickly becoming creepy? The teens suddenly couldn’t shake the feeling that something just wasn’t right. Natalie cautiously climbed down the rocks to take a closer look. Strange Smell TikTok / ughhenry Gabbi mustered all her courage as she walked over to the suitcase. The other two stood back and egged her on. “Open it!” Henry yelled. Natalie searched the ground until she found a long stick to try and pry back the suitcase’s lid. But, as soon as she did, she jumped back as a terrible stench filled the air. A Plastic Bag TikTok / ughhenry From what they could see, the suitcase contained a black garbage bag. That’s when the friends began to get nervous. The mood of the footage was somber as Gabbi took a prod for herself and pulled out her phone. Natalie had a frightened look on her face, and Henry could be heard narrating in the background: “OK so she’s calling the police.” They Didn’t Come TikTok / ughhenry But the police didn’t come. Henry, Natalie, and Gabbi didn’t want to hang around, so they left the beach. More than two hours went by before the police showed up. Apparently, they thought it was all an elaborate prank. Later, the three friends returned to the scene and filmed the police cars that swarmed the beach. What was inside the suitcase? Investigation TikTok / ughhenry The teens’ curiosity had lead them to something they certainly wished they hadn’t found. What was in the mysterious suitcase? We may never know. It was taken by the Seattle Police Department and an investigation has been launched.
