The Bachelor Season 29: Premiere Date, Trailer and More
The Bachelor is returning for season 29 in 2025. The dating show will continue with Grant Ellis’ journey to find the love of his life after having his heart broken by Jenn Tran on The Bachelorette.
When Is ‘The Bachelor’ Season 29 Premiere?
Season 29 of The Bachelor premieres on ABC Monday, January 27, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET. The franchise generally airs two-hour episodes every week and recent seasons tend to be between 10 and 12 episodes long.
Who Is the New Bachelor for Season 29?
Grant Ellis is this season’s leading man. Grant was a contestant on season 21 of The Bachelorette, but Jenn sent him home during week 6 ahead of hometown dates.
Grant’s casting was announced after his elimination episode aired on August 12, 2024. “As the Bachelor, Ellis is eager to embark on a journey filled with romance, adventure, and genuine connections,” an ABC press release revealed. “He hopes to find a partner who shares his values of loyalty, humor and a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.”
In December 2024, ABC released a teaser video that featured Grant giving more insight into himself and what he’s looking for. “I’m a New Jersey boy. A mama’s boy. I’m a day trader. I’m an athlete. I’m really a goofball,” he said in the clip. “I’m looking for love. I want a wife. I’m searching for that happiness. To get what you want out of life, you have to take a chance. Love is a choice. Love is hard. But, ultimately, the hardest things have the biggest reward.”
Grant played college basketball at Iona University in New York, then transferred to Alberta Magnus College in Connecticut. He briefly played professional basketball overseas before suffering an injury that ended his career. Grant then moved to Texas and “pivoted” to begin working in finance, which is when he became a day trader.

‘The Bachelor’ Season 29 Trailer
ABC released the first full trailer for season 29 of The Bachelor on December 15, 2024. The footage began with clips of several of the women on Grant’s season singing his praises. “Grant really does check everybody’s boxes,” one said, while another gushed, “Tall, handsome, smart. Hottest Bachelor ever.” Someone else pointed out, “Grant is authentic. He’s genuinely seeking a wife and a mother for his kids.”
The trailer then showed Grant tapping into his musical side as he rapped on stage and serenaded one of his women at a piano. “Music is a very integral part to be able to express myself,” he admitted. “I’m ready to get married. I’m ready to find my wife. I’m ready to have kids. I’m ready for everything.”
Of course, the preview also teased some drama. “I’m sharing you with so many women. It’s unnatural to me,” one suitor told Grant, bringing up one of the issues that plagues the contestants every season.
Two women also went at it during a cocktail party, with one yelling, “I didn’t even talk to him yet. You’ve talked to him four times. You want to talk about aggressive? You’re aggressive.” There was then another showdown, as one woman told another, “You are acting like you don’t care, like you don’t want to be here,” and she responded, “He knows how I feel! I guess I’m crazy and evil.”
The trailer ended with Grant expressing his biggest fear – being alone. He revealed that he even had a “lone wolf” tattoo that “symbolizes being alone.”
“Growing up, I always put on my face that I was OK,” Grant explained. “My family didn’t know that I was lonely. Moving into the future, I don’t want that to be a theme in my life anymore. I want to be happy. I want to have love. It’s something that’s important to me. But I’m scared of making the wrong decision.”
He then came face-to-face with host Jesse Palmer at the final rose ceremony. “Do you feel like you know what you want to do?” Jesse asked. Grant replied, “The truth is … I don’t know.” Unfortunately, he was out of time, as the former Bachelor told him, “Well, we got both women. They’re both on standby. Of course, I have to know which one to send first.”
Season 28 Bachelor Joey Graziadei also made a brief appearance in the trailer when he met up with Grant for a pep talk.
