What’s The Most Amazing 5 Steps In Losing Weight?
If you’re carrying a few extra pounds (I use that term loosely) like most of us, you know all the reasons why we should lose weight. It will reduce the stress on our heart, reduce the risk of heart disease, cancer, the possibility of diabetes, feel better, look more attractive, etc.
There are 101 reasons why but it can be a real pain to lose that weight. You try hard, make a little progress, get side-tracked, and you get heavier than you’ve started.
So sad, with that in mind, I’ve put together five simple steps to lose weight and keep it off. These steps can be applied to anything, but we’re focusing on weight loss here.
1. Know what you want
2. Know where you are
3. Track your results
4. Edit Course corrections
5. Take responsibility
Now all your extra weight will melt away easily. A simple 5-item list will do the trick, so let me explain the intricacies of the five items and their placement when it comes to weight loss.
1. Know what you want
One of the simple steps is that most people who want to lose weight have no idea of how much weight they want to lose or how they want their bodies to look.
I think we can safely say if your body starts to look the way you want, you’ll know, even if you don’t have a complete and detailed map.
2. Know where you are
It is a big step that is always overlooked and is the number one reason for the up and down effects of abysmal results that we experience when it comes to weight loss. We are not satisfied with the way our bodies feel and look and find it very difficult to zoom in and get an accurate picture of where we are. Unfortunately, we have to know where we are for us to quantify the results we’re getting.
You are on a trip to San Diego in California, and you want to start your journey from Phoenix in Arizona, but you don’t know where you are. What you need to do is to get a map of Arizona/California and hope that a simple 6-hours ride west on Interstate 8 will take you to San Diego.
Six hours later, you have no idea where you are, and it is not San Diego. You feel like a failure, and you want to give up! Do you blame the car? Stupid maps? The city of San Diego? Yourself?
Now, what if I told you, you’re actually in New Your City, not Phoenix in Arizona. 6 hours by car west from New York City will never get you to San Diego.
If you have taken the time to find out exactly where you are, you will be able to choose the correct transportation to get to San Diego and how long it will take.
The same goes for weight loss and our physical condition. In our mind, we think we are starting in another physical condition exercise than we are. When the results don’t follow the illusion in your mind, you get upset.
3. Track your results in weight loss.
It is conceptually simple. If we have no clue about what we are doing, how do we know what is working? It may be a simple one to do, but it’s also not that simple to do it. Unfortunately, the majority never track their results in the process.
4. Edit Course corrections
We love doing this. We have it on hand. It’s like step 1 of knowing what you want. We try new food diets, super sit-ups machines, and cardio hip hop power energy yoga fat burner class.
We may be very good at converting it, but without knowing where we are starting and the history of the tracked results, we have no clue as to what we should change or even what direction to go.
5. Take responsibility
No, not responsibility! That is a bad word. I don’t want people to know what I’m doing, or more importantly, what I fail to do.
So why are we against accountability which is your secret weapon for weight loss? Because it works! If you know someone will follow up on you, or you will be held accountable or feel very uncomfortable not following.
Accountability, when used wisely, is the ultimate motivator for weight loss. Since you’re going to be responsible anyway, you might as well get something out of it.
Using prior accountability, you can achieve the body of your dreams. If you let your body be irresponsible, it will accumulate fat in places you don’t want.
The biggest obstacle to losing weight is not taking any action. It doesn’t matter how good the plan if you don’t follow it, it’s useless. So what do I do now?
First, and foremost be responsible.
