Bird X Before New Diet

In this video you will see a Salicylate-sensitive, Amine-sensitive bird. Deemed a “plucker” and thrown away by his previous caregiver, he arrived at our sanctuary almost 100 grams underweight with the typical parrot diet in tow. After several weeks of research we learned about his sensitivities and now understand his syndrome. Foods that trigger his symptoms have since been removed and he is slowly detoxing. He is on a completely new list of foods that are not only detoxing him, but ensuring that he receives lots of great nutrients for his particular species. He has gained over 128 grams! All of the symptoms you see here are slowly diminishing. His down feathers are beginning to grow back in and so are his feathers. But more importantly his red skin, wing-flipping, toe-tapping, shuddering, and shivering are all becoming less and less prominent. All because of diet change and no behavioral modification.
