Reduce Dark Circles and Puffy Eyes With Caffeine Eye Cream!

There is a lot of talk right now about caffeine treatment for dark under eye circles and puffy eyes, and for good reason. Dark circles and puffy eyes age us several years and make us feel old before our time, so new research proving that caffeine addresses these issues has made headlines in several beauty magazines, talk shows, and is popping up all over the web.

WHY CAFFEINE?

Caffeine is a vasoconstrictor, which reduces the size of blood vessels.Caffeine also has anti-inflammatory, anti-carcinogenic, and antioxidant properties, so when used topically it is an excellent choice for skin-care! Researchers have found that topical treatment with caffeine decreased the number of nonmalignant and malignant skin tumors in SKH-1 hairless mice pretreated with UVB. This shows extreme promise for future skin cancer treatment creams.

Caffeine as an anti-inflammatory treatment helps reduce inflammation and redness caused by Rosacea, a skincare disorder that is said to affect 16 million Americans. This disorder causes severe redness, swelling and sores on the face that sometimes looks like acne and is a very embarrassing condition. Some studies with caffeine have shown promise in this area. As Molecular Biologist, Louise Tremblay, noted in a May 3, 2011 article on livestrong.com, a 1981 study performed at the Seoul National University found that caffeine in creams is almost as good as aspirin for the reduction of inflammation and significantly increased the creams’ effectiveness.

WHAT CAUSES DARK CIRCLES?

The first obvious reason for dark under eye circles is lack of sleep. This can easily be fixed by getting more shut eye; however, other reasons for discoloration are dehydration, allergies, and genetics. Using a good caffeine eye cream can help lighten these circles, but probably won’t completely erase those caused by genetics. Nevertheless, it is a perfect solution for those who want to see real results in a short period of time and don’t want to spend a lot of money.

Some dermatologists say that putting coffee grounds in your regular facial scrub can product benefits, but it can also cause dry skin or redness from scrubbing the delicate areas on your face and around your eyes. A good alternative is a cream that contains caffeine extract, as well as hydrating and moisturizing ingredients. The cream of choice should also be all natural, with no additional toxins, chemicals or synthetic preservatives, as research has shown these unwanted toxins to act as carcinogens and allergens. Some researchers say that up to 70% of what you put on your skin actually goes into your bloodstream! Why take the chance when you don’t have to?

WAKE UP TIRED EYES!

Caffeine has also been known to reduce puffy eyes as well. Due to its anti-inflammatory benefits, blood vessels constrict and reduce puffiness caused by water retention and aging. In addition, fine wrinkles and that “tired” look that we sometimes get in our 30’s, 40’s and beyond is much improved by creams containing caffeine. According to a recent study done on 37 female subjects who applied eye cream containing caffeine twice a day, fine wrinkles, bags under the eyes, sagging, dark circles, and skin texture showed an average improvement of 14 – 28% after 6 weeks (Lupo, 2007).

HELP FOR WRINKLES?

Another study done in 2009 with several creams has shown to improve the look of skin around the eyes and to actually reduce the depth of larger wrinkles. Wrinkle reducing creams and facial treatments are big business in America, and most of these creams are hyped up to perform miracles. Eye or face cream that contains caffeine is not a replacement for Botox or surgery, but it is a very good choice for people who don’t want to inject expensive toxins into their skin, and for people who prefer to use natural remedies for their ailments. These creams also don’t have to be expensive – the days of $100 creams are over. It is possible to obtain an effective eye cream for under $25 that will most certainly lessen dark circles, fine lines and puffiness, and should show results in as little as one to two weeks when used twice a day. Longer use is advised for more extreme cases.

Ladies (and men), we don’t have to suffer any longer with dark under eye circles, fine lines, or puffy eyes, and we don’t have to break the bank to find a remedy. Simply look online for an affordable caffeine eye or face cream and watch your skin improve with time, instead of the other way around.
