Spinach Artichoke Dip Pizza – Belly Laugh Living
Doesn’t everyone love a delicious, cheesy pizza and a tasty Spinach Artichoke Dip? Why not combine them and make a Spinach Artichoke Dip Pizza recipe? We are always looking for ways to cut calories and enhance flavor when it comes to our favorite foods. Instead of using high-calorie ingredients like cream cheese and sour cream, we made a non-fat cottage cheese sauce that is just as creamy and satisfying. This way, we can enjoy a healthier, easy-to-make pizza without feeling guilty about having a glass of wine or beer on the side. As long as it tastes fantastic, we are all in!
Creating a delicious spinach artichoke dip pizza recipe is easy with just a few key ingredients. To make it both healthier and tastier, non-fat cottage cheese is essential. Using fresh baby spinach is ideal, but if it’s not on hand, frozen spinach is a more budget-friendly option.
How to make the spinach artichoke dip pizza recipe
We thawed the frozen spinach in the microwave and then cooked it in a sauté pan with garlic. It takes approximately 3-4 minutes to heat up the spinach and garlic. Don’t forget to season the spinach with some salt and pepper. We added half a teaspoon of each.
After heating the spinach, turn off the heat and combine it with cottage cheese and cheddar cheese. If you prefer it to be spicy, add half a tablespoon of habanero pepper and mix everything together until well combined.
As the cheese warms up from the heat of the spinach, it will begin to melt and combine with the spinach mixture, creating a deliciously gooey texture.
To enhance the taste, we included mushrooms. Slice a large portobello mushroom. Heat half a tablespoon of olive oil in a sauté pan. Then, add the mushrooms to the pan and stir them until they start to become crispy.
To prepare the artichoke, slice it into bite-sized pieces. We recommend using artichokes in water instead of oil to save on calories and avoid adding extra oil to the pizza.
Now, let’s build this pizza!!
We use Boboli individual crusts so that we can each customize our own pizza to our liking. The steps are simple: start by spreading a layer of Spinach and Cottage cheese mixture on the crust, then add the mushrooms, followed by the artichoke, and top it off with a generous amount of mozzarella cheese.
Next, add the sharp cheddar cheese. We prefer to use New York sharp white cheddar cheese. Place the pizza on a baking sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 18 minutes.
TIP: To make cleanup easier, we recommend lining the baking sheet with foil. Once the baking is done, allow the foil to cool before removing it to avoid any mishaps. This way, the pan can be easily put away without any hassle.
Enjoy!!
Making unique pizza combinations is something we enjoy doing. Although we can easily order a classic pepperoni pizza for delivery, there’s something satisfying about creating one at home. I can add extra cheese and pepperoni to my heart’s content. Some of my other favorite pizzas include Chicken Cordon Bleu, Mushroom, Shrimp Scampi, Tomato Pesto Ricotta, Caesar Salad, Corn and Tuna, Chicken Pesto and Sausage and Cherry Pepper. We’ve put in a lot of effort to reduce the calorie count on most of these pizzas, although some are too good to cut back on. Nonetheless, we’ve made them as healthy as possible.
Just search for “Pizza” in the search box and get recipes for all the different pizzas we have made.
TIP: When making pizza, it’s a good idea to measure or weigh the cheese. As a cheese lover, this allows me to control my calorie intake without feeling like I’m missing out. Also, by using cottage cheese, you can eliminate the need for other types of cheese in your pizza recipe. Additionally, adding cottage cheese will provide a delightful creamy texture.
