Herman rescued Elsa when she was a pup and had raised her for three years now. The dog was more than a pet to him, and he’d give anything to make sure she led a comfortable life under his roof.

For the longest time, Elsa never really liked new people in the house. She’d bark at every guest Herman brought home, baring her fangs at them until they left. But this wasn’t the case with Maria.

Before this incident occurred, Herman had installed some cameras in his home after a string of burglaries shook his neighborhood. The cameras were hooked with motion sensors to tag any movements in his home.

If the cameras caught something, his security software would send alerts to his phone. It was fortunate then that the cameras were fully functional when he left for his business trip. What one of them would capture would leave him speechless.

The Notification

Herman was hanging out in his hotel room after meeting with his client when his phone rang. Thinking it was a text message from Maria, he quickly jumped to his phone and unlocked it.

His brows drew apart as he realized it wasn’t a text but a warning from his home security system alerting him of movement in his house. Hoping it wasn’t anything serious, Herman clicked open the notification.

Expecting The Worst

The security software quickly launched and brought the camera interface. Among the many cameras installed in the house, the kitchen one blinked with activity.

Herman’s mind began racing. He remembered that Maria usually took Elsa on a walk during that time of the day, so she couldn’t be home. Fearing the worst, he clicked on the camera feed.

The feed came to life, and Herman covered his mouth in surprise. Maria stood in the center of the kitchen, and right before her, standing on two feet, Elsa.
