Are Love Is Blind’s Sara and Joey Dating After Season 8 Reunion?
Love Is Blind season 8 stars Sara Carton and Joey Leveille sparked dating rumors following the show’s dramatic reunion. Life & Style takes a deep dive into the duo’s relationship, how they bonded after the show and where they stand now.
How Did the Dating Rumors Involving Sara and Joey Start?
“Someone very close to the situation confirmed they’re a couple and have been for a while,” reality TV tea-spiller and “Reality Receipts” podcast cohost StorytimeWithRikkii claimed in a March 11,, 2025, TikTok post while also mentioning it on her podcast.
Rikkii reported that the duo was allegedly spotted together at a hair salon by fans in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where season 8 of Love Is Blind was filmed.
“They’re waiting for everything to die down to announce it,” Rikkii said of Sara and Joey’s reported romance.
While predicting that the oncology nurse and physician associate would claim they are just “friends,” Rikkii said, “Y’all already been spotted together. People already know. People in your inner circles have already spilled beans, so you might as well come clean.”
She added that “Monica was allegedly blindsided by the news,” referring to Monica Danús, who left Joey at the altar in the season 8 finale of Love Is Blind.
Love Is Blind’s Sara Responds to Joey Dating Rumors
“I’ve seen this a few times online in the past 24 hours. Well, to be clear, me and Joey are not dating,” Sara revealed on the March 13, 2025, episode of “The Viall Files” podcast.
She added, “I don’t know what the future will hold. But I do know for right now, I definitely have no capacity to even think about a relationship.”
Love Is Blind’s Sara and Joey Developed a ‘Great Friendship’ During and After the Show
“There was a love square between me, Monica, Ben [Mezzenga] and Joey. We were all talking to each other until the second to last day in the pods,” Sara recalled the podcast. “Of course, naturally in that circumstance, you do connect with people. I feel like me and Joey did establish a really great friendship.”
Sara revealed the two “didn’t really talk” until “five months” post-production, when he visited her in Nashville, Tennessee, while she was working on finishing out a travel nursing contract she had there.
“[Joey] and five other people visited me in Nashville, and we called ourselves the ‘Yee-Haw Crew,’ like, it’s such a good time,” she explained. “We grew really, really close with each other just because of the support for each other, knowing what we’ve all been through and being able to be there for one another. It’s been super important to me.”
“This whole situation, I’ve felt very close with Joey. I’m fond of our relationship, but I [also] feel very well-supported by all those involved. I’m just very grateful that I’ve met him, but, yeah, we definitely have a friendship. We’re definitely not dating,” Sara shared.
What Happened to Sara and Ben on ‘Love Is Blind’?
Sara decided not to marry Ben while at the altar, telling him during their wedding ceremony that she “always wanted a partner to be on the same wavelength” as her, and he wasn’t The One.
“I’m sorry, but I don’t want that to be misunderstood. I still love you and everything about you is amazing. And I care about you so much,” Sara explained to Ben, who responded, “I care about you, too. And I love you so much, and I know I want to stay with you and keep growing our relationship if you’ll let me.”
Sara told him, “We’ll see,” then dished about her reasons for dumping Ben to her mom and sister while in the car driving away from the ceremony.
“I remember, like, I asked him about, like, Black Lives Matter, and I’m no expert, but, like, when I asked him about it, he was like, ‘I guess I never really thought too much about it,’” Sara explained. “That affected me, especially in our own city, like, how could it not? How did it not make you think about something?”
The Netflix star added that she asked her former fiancé what his church’s views were about the LGBTQ community, “and he said he didn’t know,” which Sara also found off-putting.
Sara and Ben Have Differing Views About Their Breakup
Filming for season 8 of Love Is Blind took place in early 2024, and the contestants were brought back together for the reunion that aired on March 9, 2025.
Sara decided not to marry Ben while at the altar, they had decided to continue their relationship and actually lived together for two weeks until she had to head to Nashville for her work assignment.
The day she drove to Nashville, Sara said she didn’t hear from the real estate developer “that much,” but she “didn’t think much about it” because she knew “he was out with friends.”
“When I get to Nashville, that’s when I noticed that he had removed me from Find My Friends [a location sharing app], which I was shocked to see. I was really confused because I thought we left on good terms, and I honestly thought Ben was going to be in Nashville that week with me,” Sara shared. “So, I was confused. That was out of left field.”
Sara went on to reveal that she texted Ben only to receive “three very scripted apologies” in reply. Then she didn’t hear from him for “a month-and-a-half.”
Ben told host Nick Lachey that he was under the impression that he and Sara were “broken up” when she left for Nashville. He also said that he made sure Sara got to Nashville safely, but after that he removed her from the location app.
