This recipe was provided to me to share with you by eye health experts Essilor.co.uk who shared some useful information about eye health. Turkey is rich in zinc.

Zinc is concentrated in our retinas and helps enzymes that promote eye health. Niacin, also found in turkey meat, can help protect your eyes from cataract development.

If you take lunch then you are so much less likely to buy food which inevitably will be less healthy. Taking a variety of food throughout the week to work keeps your lunchtimes interesting and stops you from getting bored.

Making the Slimming World turkey chilli in the slow cooker

This meal could easily be made in the slow cooker by adding all the ingredients to the slow cooker and cooking for 6 hours on low. If you prefer you may like to brown the mince first for appearance but it isn’t necessary.

Before you start to think about recipes with your slow cooker here are a few tips which may help. If you find your meal is a bit watery take the lid off the slow cooker and turn it up high for half an hour this can help evaporate some of the water.

Using Slow cooker liners can save washing up if you are making something that often sticks. These are the ones I use.

Remember that nothing evaporates so you may need less liquid than in other recipes eg on the hob.

Get the best size slow cooker for your family there are lots of great ones on Amazon with many under £30 for a good brand and good size!

Why you need vegetables to lose weight

Everyone knows vegetables are good for you, don’t they? They are healthy and filling for very few calories!

The best vegetables are those with low-calorie density. Basically, we are talking about the healthier vegetables – potatoes don’t count but butternut squash is much healthier for example!

This means if you eat 100g of spinach, for example, it is just 23 calories and obviously, 100g of anything would fill you up significantly. On the other hand, 100g of crisps, which would be just as filling, is around 536 calories!
