Weight Loss Nutrition 101 – Types of Foods to Always Avoid (Part 2)

In Part 1 of this article, I looked at 3 foods that you should always try to avoid. Those foods were fried foods, ice cream, and soda. In part 2 of this article, I will look at 3 more foods you should try to avoid if your goal is to shed body fat and lose weight.

Another food you should try to avoid is white sugar, refined carbohydrates, and anything with white sugar in it. Unfortunately, a lot of your favorite chocolates and candies have white sugar in them which means if your goal is to reduce your body fat and lose weight, you will want to avoid them. These sorts of foods and other refined carbohydrates are bad news.

The problem is that refined carbs are very calorie-dense and so small quantities contain high numbers of calories. Another problem with these types of foods is that the calories are often “empty calories” with no real nutritional or nutrients whatsoever. These types of foods can cause problems with your blood sugar levels and increase fat storage, not allowing stored fat to be released. Try to stay away from white sugar and other refined carbohydrates.

Another food you should avoid and substitute with a healthier option is white bread. Your body will look at and treat white bread in a very similar fashion to white sugar. White Bread is a refined carbohydrate with no nutritional value. People who think that eating too many carbohydrates cause people to be fat are missing something huge. It’s refined carbohydrates that cause the problems.

Select bread like whole wheat or rye which have nutritional value (minerals and nutrients.) Try to avoid products that are produced with white sugar and white flower and select foods made from whole grains. They are a much better option.

The last food type of food that I will look at in this article and suggest you avoid if your goal is to lose weight and body fat is fast food burgers and hot dogs. Hot dogs are not real food but a mixture of mashed-up meat combined with artificial colors and flavors, fillers, preservatives, etc.

They are loaded with calories, fat, and saturated fat. Hamburgers while they at least consist of “real” meat in most cases are still loaded with fat. The term lean ground beef is an oxymoron. If you have to choose one or the other, go with hamburgers but you are altogether better going with a grilled chicken or a chicken sandwich.

Eating the wrong types of foods will wreak havoc on your body’s ability to burn fat and lose weight. Try to avoid the above foods as well as the ones contained in part 1 of this article as much as possible. If you absolutely must have one of these foods, try to do so on a very limited basis and in small quantities. Cheat meals are ok, just don’t let your cheat meal turn into a cheat weekend or 3 days as this will make reaching your weight loss and fat loss goals increasingly difficult.
