I knew the answer for treating obesity and diabetes over a decade ago.

I told you it was bold, but hear me out. 

In my life before being a diabetes & obesity doctor, I worked lots of different jobs…I even worked for a research company running studies.

The days were a bit long and we had to spend hours at a time in rooms to get the studies done.

It was not a good situation when someone needed to go to the bathroom. ��

As you can imagine, this usually meant that meals were unpredictable and/or rushed.

This was not great for building good habits around eating or exercising and a hot topic was how to prevent our waistlines from expanding.
 

�We also wore scrubs which is not a good thing for keeping tabs on weight.

 � Any-who, I remembered a coworker telling me his secret to losing over a hundred pounds. Seriously!

I did not believe this at first because he was actually super slim (wore a size small scrub bottom). BUT then he showed me pictures of him just 2 years earlier…..and his stretch marks. �

He told me all he did was avoid eating or drinking anything that had High Fructose Corn Syrup and the weight started to come off.

I was a bit shocked & kinda skeptical.

This was way back in the early 2000’s and I thought I knew a thing or two about “healthy” and weight loss. I thought, “It couldn’t be that easy” and totally forgot about it.
 
Fast-forward to now: ​
Here I am teaching people how to ditch their diabetes, avoid diabetes, kick sugar habits and fight the belly bulge with simple rules and steps….. just like that coworker. �‍♀️

�I couldn’t help but smile thinking about how I was given the answer all those years ago and just did not listen (I thought I knew better).

It is seriously NOT as complicated as we make it….we can reverse diabetes and obesity with small steady (and often obvious) changes.

This list is my introduction to explaining why we cannot stop eating, and why our current nutritional norms are killing us. 

NOW, I will be the first to admit that many foods listed you may not agree with…they have been advertised as healthy after all right?

But, if what you have tried isn’t working….

Isn’t it worth at least considering that what I am saying is has some truth?
